What to bring on Tuesday?

As it is written clearly in the brief of Assignment 2 you have to submit the following:

  • Sheet 1: Site plan and site section (scale= 1:200 or 1:500 depending on your project) and the analysis of the project area. Required drawing elements: terrain, plants, roads, surrounding objects, buildings and your installation. Curves of the terrain can be drawn by polygons if you prefer (or if you need a ruler to draw clean lines). For the analysis: mark all the important elements (what is important for your concept) by colors/ texts/ icons/ small sketches. Introduce your concept by explanatory drawings or a short handwritten text.
  • Sheet 2: plan(s) [=floor plan(s)] of your installation representing the surrounding environment too. The amount of plans depends on your design (For example if your installation has two floors, you have to draw both plans). Scale = 1:50
  • Sheet 3: section(s) and view(s) of your installation representing the surrounding environment too. The amount of views and sections depends on your design. If one view or section is not enough to understand your installation you have to add more sheets. Scale = 1:50
  • Sheet 4: 3-6 photos of your model. The role of the photos is the visualization of your installation, so take care of the right perspective, the background, the composition and the right contrast of the images. You can add a hand drawn layer on your photos if you want (representing the environment, ie. trees, plants or human figures).
  • Model: Scale=1:25. Build your installation with the terrain and the close environment (i.e.: trees/bushes) All dimensions of all elements have to be in the right scale. The environment can be represented in an abstract way.

All parts are compulsory. Missing sheets or models have to be complemented until the date of late submission.

Take care of the correct dimensions of your objects and the clean, precise representation. The layout of the sheets and the style of the drawings has to be uniform and well designed too. Make every element on your sheets (drawings, explanatory texts, sketches, photos, even your name) part of the composition. The sheet size should be the same, fit with your design and no bigger than A3 (297 x 420 mm). If A3 is not enough: use more sheets or fold the bigger ones into smaller pieces.
